Dr. Adrien Izquierdo

Growing up in Cooper City, Florida, Dr. Adrien Izquierdo enjoyed working with animals since a young age. Before attending veterinary school, he worked with numerous wildlife sanctuaries and shadowed a local veterinarian. Dr. Izquierdo attended the University of Central Florida to receive his undergraduate degree in biology. He continued his education and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.

There are many satisfying aspects about being a veterinarian according to Dr. Izquierdo. “I take pleasure in the work itself. Especially with zoologic species, there is something satisfying about seeing a different problem in a different species every day. There is a very rewarding feeling when a downed hawk begins to eat again and can be sent out for release.” His professional veterinary interests include zoologic, exotic, wildlife, aquatic medicine and surgery, general surgery and pathology. He is also a proud member of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medicine Association, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Izquierdo currently lives with a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix named Boomer and a Red Footed Tortoise named Archie. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving, and a host of outdoor activities.
