Dr. Melanie Tramontina

Dr. Melanie Tramontina grew up in Harleysville, PA, where she wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. Her inspiration came from her first family pet, a dalmatian named Domino, and growing up by his side. Dr. Tramontina volunteered at several animal rescues, including a family run rescue called Pawsibilities. In college she interned at a rescue called The Sanctuary in Haasville, and at a wildlife education center called the Wildlands Conservancy. She also worked as a technician assistant for several years at Wilmington Animal Hospital.

She attended undergrad at Muhlenberg College and graduated on the Dean's List in 2016 with a degree in biology. Dr. Tramontina graduated with her VMD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.

She is a member of the AVMA, and her professional interests include shelter medicine, soft-tissue surgery and preventative medicine.

Dr. Tramontina spends her free time hiking, running and doing yoga. She also spends time at Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia. She shares her home with a border collie mix named Dottie and 3 cats: Dewey, Mono and Midori.
