Dr. Stephen Cai

Dr. Stephen Cai earned his Veterinary Medicine Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. He completed a 1-year rotating internship at the MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts prior to finishing his small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania in 2019.

At a very young age, Dr. Cai was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine after reading a maxim stating, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Growing up with both cats and dogs, he always felt that a pet’s well-being was of utmost importance. Dr. Cai believes that “animals do not have their own voice, therefore it is our duty to ensure that we provide them one when it comes to both their health and welfare.”

Dr. Cai became a board-certified internist and diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2019. His professional interests include endocrinology, gastroenterology, and respiratory disease. He shares his home with Mishka, a 7-year-old domestic shorthair, and enjoys hobbies including running, tennis, volleyball, cooking, and trips to the beach.
