Dr. Caitlin Houlihan

Dr. Caitlin Houlihan grew up in North Andover, Massachusetts. From a young age Dr. Houlihan knew she wanted to work with animals. As such, she spent her summers working in veterinary hospitals, volunteering at a therapeutic horseback riding center, and even working at the Franklin Park Zoo.

During her undergraduate career at Saint Michael's College, Dr. Houlihan found a love for medicine and developed an appreciation for the important intersections between human, animal, and environmental health which drove her to pursue her dream of veterinary school.

Dr. Houlihan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 with a Veterinary Business Management Certificate (VBMA). Dr. Houlihan’s professional interests include avian & exotic medicine, diagnostic imaging, and communication.

"The most rewarding parts of my job are helping sick pets and connecting with people. Having owned pets all my life I know how scary it can be to bring your pet to the ER - I have been there. Knowing your family member is with someone you trust can make all the difference. It is important to me that families understand the medicine and know their pet is getting the absolute best care."

Dr. Caitlin Houlihan shares her home with Percy, a one-year-old DMH rescue cat, who is forever grateful to have traded in the streets for couch cushions.
When she isn't working her other interests include skiing, fly-fishing, traveling, and food!
