Dr. Marjorie VanSaun
Marjorie Van Saun is an Associate Veterinarian at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital and 24 Hour Emergency Service, joining our hospital in June 2016. Her professional interests include feline medicine and environmental enrichment, laser surgery and dentistry. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Van Saun was born and raised in upstate New York and attended Binghamton University for her undergraduate studies in Biology. Following college she moved one state south to Pennsylvania to attend veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated in 2014. During veterinary school Dr. Van Saun was the president of the Penn Vet Animal Welfare Society and took part in several Intercollegiate Animal Welfare Judging/Assessment Contests.
When asked why she does what she does, Dr. van Saun says "forming partnerships with pet owners to become advocates for their pet's health and happiness is very important to me, and it's what I love to do every day." She has a particular soft-spot for cats, and believes that "cats are sometimes misunderstood and under-served creatures and we can always be doing more for them!"
Although she was not born in New Jersey, Dr. van Saun spent lots of time visiting family in Jersey and going to the shore as a child. Currently in her free time she still enjoys the beach, but also likes to go hiking or to stay at home to spend time with her cat Mama Bear.
