Dr. Lindsay Wilfong
Wisconsin native Dr. Lindsay Wilfong finds the most satisfying part of her work is the ability to provide the best quality of life for her patients by improving their pain control, environment and overall health.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota -- Twin Cities with a major in animal science and a minor in marine biology. Dr. Wilfong attended the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received the Aquatic Animal Health Certificate.
Before becoming a veterinarian, she volunteered at the Minnesota Raptor Rehabilitation Clinic, performed internships at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for sea turtle rehabilitation and the Como Park Zoo for aquatic animal medicine; had externships at the Tennessee Aquarium working with large collections of fish, and at the Milwaukee County Zoo; and took part in the intensive SeaVet course on marine mammal and fish medicine.
“I gained a love of animals at a young age growing up with dogs. I gained my interest in exotic animals while interning at an aquarium in Florida, and initially wanted to be an aquarium veterinarian. I progressed into pet exotic animals after realizing I missed the human-animal bond seen with owners and their pets,“ she says.
In her leisure time, she enjoys getting outside with Nora, her boxer/Lab/pibble mix, and exploring new areas. She also loves trying new breweries and restaurants.
