Dr. Ashley Nixon
Dr. Ashley Nixon knew she wanted to enter the animal field at the early age of just 3 years old! Her passion for pets inspired her to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed her clinical year at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Nixon Volunteered in South Africa at a wildlife refuge & endangered species breeding center. She also donated her time performing equestrian therapy for the mentally & physically disabled.
She has special interest in rehabilitation, sports medicine, regenerative medicine, acupuncture & traditional Chinese veterinary medicine. She is a member of the World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and the American Veterinary Medical Association. What Dr. Nixon finds most rewarding about the profession is “working to find the best, individualized solution for each patient and getting to integrate so many aspects of medicine.”
Dr. Nixon shares her home with her cat named Turtle and enjoys mentoring current veterinary students through the International Veterinary Student Association program in her spare time.
