Chunk

We were dealt with an unfortunate situation where our puppy, Chunk, developed symptoms of parvo. Our local vet recommended Mt Laurel Animal Hospital and I drove her over an hour at 1am. Because we caught the virus on the first day of symptoms, we went through this rollercoaster of a virus without being able to see her, hold her, or soothe her. 5 days of having Chunk in our lives and we were just so attached, especially my 4 year old daughter. The veterinarians were amazing, but two nurses, in particular, were truly angels. Nurse Jenna and Nurse Margie were truly angels. Nurse Jenna and Nurse Margie were the ones who kept our nerves at ease by talking us through everything, sent pictures, and gave Chunk so much love and attention.

After learning how costly the care would be, we did everything we could to fundraise so we could save our puppy. My mom set up a GoFundMe while I created videos and asked family and friends to share on social media. Without our family and friends support, and the generous donation from the Empath Project, my family would be looking at an estimated $15,000 of debt which was unfathomable to say the least. Chunk is home and growing so fast, she’s super loving and playful, and the perfect addition to our home.
