Mount Laurel Animal Hospital will sponsor your $30 participation fee. Following the event you will have the opportunity to register for certification with the American Kennel Club or the standard Canine Good Citizen organization. We have 30-minute time slots available for 10 testing items (3 chances to do each).

What is a Canine Good Citizen?
We believe that all dogs can be good dogs, and all owners can be great owners, all it takes is a little bit of training, lots of love, and of course, plenty of praise along the way!
That’s why the Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC) program was created! The Canine Good Citizen is an expert-made training program designed to help you and your dog be the best you can be–together.
Canine Good Citizen is a skill set test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.
Canine Good Citizen is open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed. There are no age minimums or limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program, because yes, you can always teach an old dog new tricks! (Copy modified from AKC Website)
Is Your Dog…
- Updated on all core vaccines
- At least 4 months old
- Great with people and other pets
And has
- A Good, Friendly Temperament
- A Confident & Not Fearful Behavior
- Basic Training
Please Note:
Owners cannot use food to motivate their dogs. Evasive collars (prong, shock, etc.…) are also not permitted.
Dogs must rely on relationships and communication, and verbal cues/signatures.
