Dr. Tavia Watkins

Dr. Watkins is an Emergency Veterinarian at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital. She grew up in New Jersey and holds professional veterinary interests in emergency medicine & critical care, surgery, sports medicine and rehabilitation, behavioral medicine, and integrative/alternative medicine.

Prior to joining Mount Laurel Animal Hospital in 2024, Dr. Watkins gained experience in veterinary medicine volunteering her time at the Liberty humane society and working as a technician for 4 years before applying to vet school.

Dr. Watkins earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Marine Science from Stockton University in 2016, and also achieved the honor of being named to the Stockton University Fall 2015 Dean’s List. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Watkins graduated from Saint George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in January 2024.

She is a member of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Business Management Association, and the National Association for Black Veterinarians.

Beyond her dedication to veterinary medicine, Dr. Watkins enjoys exercising, basketball, chess, hiking, traveling, and being a foodie! Her home is shared with Caleb, a cockapoo, Franklin, a red-eared slider turtle, and Kisa, a domestic short-haired cat.
