Dr. Caroline Garzotto
Dr. Caroline Garzotto joined the Mount Laurel Animal Hospital team in 2007. She performs both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and her professional interests include sports medicine, rehabilitation and pain management, oncologic surgery and wound management/reconstructive surgery.
Veterinary medicine is a second career for Dr. Garzotto, who worked as an electrical/computer engineer in Pittsburgh, PA before pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She earned her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. That was followed by a private practice internship, and then a three-year surgical residency at Tufts University/Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. Dr. Garzotto has been a board-certified small animal surgeon since 2001 and a certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) since 2012. She also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and operates her own traveling surgery service.
Dr. Garzotto lives in South Jersey with her husband, two daughters, three cats and one little dog. She enjoys teaching, reading, yoga and gardening. While she loves performing surgery, she considers working with pet owners to improve the lives of their pets with pain, injury or illness through both surgical and non-surgical means the most rewarding part of her career.
