She grew up in Brick, New Jersey, and holds professional veterinary interests in neurosurgery, managing refractory idiopathic epilepsy, and working with veterinary students, interns, and residents to reduce "neurophobia" in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Tischio graduated from Colby College in 2015 with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Classics. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Tischio graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in May 2019. At Atlantic Veterinary College, Dr. Tischio received the VECCS Award for Proficiency in Emergency and Critical Care, the Merck Animal Health Small Animal Internal Medicine Award, and the Dr. Greg Fleming Memorial Award.
Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Tischio's family fostered dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes, with various medical impairments throughout her teenage years.
Dr. Tischio shares her time and home with Squid her cat, who she adopted during her internship in Brooklyn, and Pasquini (also known as Pazzy) who is a lab mix, whom Dr. Tischio adopted in veterinary school and named after the author of her anatomy textbook.
Beyond her dedication to veterinary medicine, Dr. Tischio enjoys playing squash, learning new instruments, and exploring new breweries with friends.
