Dr. Rebecca Marcus
Rebecca Marcus, grew up in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. She loved the idea of working with animals since a young age, which led her to Johns Hopkins University to earn an undergraduate degree in neuroscience. Dr. Marcus attended the University of California, Davis for veterinary school. Prior to school, she shadowed small animal vets and worked as an intern at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT and the Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ.
Her professional interests include emergency and critical care. Dr. Marcus believes the most satisfying aspect of being a veterinarian is, “being able to make a positive difference on the worst days of people’s lives.”
Dr. Marcus currently lives with her black lab and hound mix named Chomper. She also has a 20 gallon fresh water aquarium with fourteen lemon tetra and two snails that came all the way from California. Some general hobbies include aquarium keeping, running, going to the beach with Chomper, and performing standup comedy.
