Dr. James Laessig
Dr. Laessig joined this practice in 2003 when he created Mount Laurel Animal Emergency Service and we began to see patients on nights, weekends and holidays. This allowed patients of Mount Laurel Animal Hospital to receive true 24-hour medical care. He purchased Mount Laurel Animal hospital from Dr. Ed Sleeper in 2006. He is a graduate of Drexel University in 1992, receiving a Bachelor of Science with emphasis on microbiology; he graduated from Kansas State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Dr. Laessig states that from childhood, he never dreamed of being anything other than a veterinarian.
As far as special interests Dr. Laessig says, “despite the bond that I enjoyed with so many clients while practicing wellness care, my true passion likely came from my time as an emergency clinician, because there is such an emphasis on needing to quickly solve what is wrong with a patient in order to maximize its chance for a healthy recovery. In selling the practice to Drs. Torre and Mankowski, it allowed me to further transition to an important quasi-management role all while still being part of an incredible and ever-evolving hospital.
