Dr. Erika Sweigard
Dr. Sweigard joined the team at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital in 2015. She grew up near Hershey, Pennsylvania and earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 2008. Dr. Sweigard went on to complete her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.
Following veterinary school Dr. Sweigard practiced both farm animal and small animal medicine and routinely treated dairy cows, goats and pigs. She still cares for some “hooved” patients including pot belly pigs. Dr. Sweigard is the head of the primary care department and her professional interests include: dog and cat surgery and dentistry and any and all “bully breeds”.
When she’s not at work she enjoys breweries, exploring the city and spending time with her husband, step daughter and two sons. She has 4, four-legged children as well: a torti named Polly, Boo the shy Siamese, a mutt named Schmidt and Cece the pocket pitty.
