Dr. Marissa Ramirez

Growing up in Holland, PA, Dr. Marissa Ramirez always loved caring for animals and being around them. With great interest in rehabilitation, acupuncture, emergency, integrative, and sports medicine, Dr. Ramirez began her veterinary journey following her graduation in 2015 from Temple University, where she majored in Biology. She also worked in a small animal practice, shadowed at the Philadelphia Racetrack, and volunteered at the UPenn New Bolton Center in the foal NICU before attending veterinary school.

Dr. Marissa Ramirez attended Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2021. In June of 2021, Dr. Ramirez joined our team as an ER Fellow.

When asked about the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian, she replied, “the best thing about being a veterinarian is being able to offer both patient and client a sense of comfort and support. Even though I am a new grad, one of the things I have loved most about working in the field is building that relationship and trust with both client and patient and how rewarding it feels. I love being able to advocate for the animals that come in to see us and being able to connect with their owner from a human-animal bond understanding. I really love how every day is a new day, you never know what is going to walk through the door that day and that’s what makes this career so exciting! The best thing about this job though is the fact that it really isn’t a job at all, it is a passion. I am so lucky, and it is a privilege to be able to practice what I love every day.”

At home, Dr. Ramirez and her husband Adam, have 2 spoiled greyhounds named Kira and Bandit, along with 2 bunnies named Pumpkin and Bean. Her personal interests include spending time with her friends and family, staying active, relaxing on the beach, and cuddling her greyhounds.
